API & AI

Ask your AI where the tools are.

ToolTrack ships with a public REST API, signed webhooks and a remote MCP server. Connect your own systems, or let Claude and other AI assistants answer questions about your equipment, with the same permissions as the person asking.

AI assistants

Plain questions, real answers.

Add ToolTrack to Claude, or any assistant that speaks the Model Context Protocol, and ask about your fleet the way you'd ask your yard manager.

  • Signs in as you, through your company's sign-in. It sees only what you can see.
  • Read tools: find a tool, what's at a location, item history, who has what, missing from the last audit, expiring certificates, open rentals, project equipment cost
  • A few safe write tools: create a reservation, request a transfer, open a repair ticket
  • Every AI action is recorded in the history, marked as coming from an assistant
  • Physical moves still need a real tap on a real tag

REST API

The same API our apps use.

Everything the web and phone apps do goes through one versioned API with OpenAPI docs. Create keys per integration, scoped to exactly the permissions it needs.

  • Per-company API keys, scoped by permission, revocable at any time
  • Rate limits per key
  • Disabled modules return 403, so integrations never see what you've switched off

Webhooks

Hear about it the moment it happens.

Send events to your own systems as they happen. Every delivery is signed so you know it came from ToolTrack, retried if your end is down, and logged so you can see what was sent.

EventWhen
asset.movedA tool's assigned location changes
custody.changedChecked out, returned or handed over
audit.completedAn audit is approved
item.out_of_serviceA tool is taken out of service
rental.dueA rental is coming due
transfer.decidedA transfer request is approved or rejected

Import and export

Bring your spreadsheet. Take your data with you.

CSV import

Map your columns for tools, models, stock, locations, projects and people. Preview a dry run with row-level errors, then commit. Roll back a whole batch if you need to.

Export anything

Every list in the web app exports to CSV or Excel. Schedule any report to arrive by email.

Connectors next

Accounting, construction platforms and telematics are next on the list. Tell us what you use when you sign up and it helps decide which comes first.

Connect ToolTrack to your stack.

Book a demo and bring your integration questions. We'll show the API, webhooks and an AI assistant working against a live demo company.
